Friends & Employees of Paladin for African Children
Friends & Employees of Paladin for African Children (FEPAC) was the brainchild of Ed Becker, General Manager - Geology & Exploration and his colleagues in October 2008 as a means of funding some smaller social projects in Malawi that were outside the scope of Paladin. In particular, the aim was to seek projects with a focus on helping children. Funds raised by employees and friends at the 2008 Christmas party were matched by Paladin in support of the iniative.
Since then over $100,000 has been raised through various initiatives such as:
- Selling chocolate in our Perth and Mount Isa offices
- Raffles
- Christmas and Easter hampers
- Donations
- Quiz night
- Corporate Golf Day
To date we fund three projects in Malawi; Mkakatavu Child Care, Mkakatavu Vocational Training and Nyungwe Blind Hostel. Please click on the links on the side menu for further information about these projects.
Our inaugural Quiz Night held in October was a resounding success and we raised over $50,000 from the sale of tickets, donations and a raffle and auction on the night.
A Corporate Golf Day was held in May at Burswood Golf Course, successfully raising just under $25,000 for FEPAC. Due to the success of the Quiz Night and the Corporate Golf Day, both events will now be held annually in order to continue to raise money for our FEPAC projects.
We are very grateful for the fantastic support provided by numerous companies and service providers to Paladin. Please click here to view a list of our generous sponsors for the Quiz Night and the Corporate Gold Day.
FEPAC is passionate about its work and all involved get immense satisfaction from the difference we can make to the children's lives. If you would like further information or wish to donate to FEPAC please e-mail: joanne.mcdonald@paladinenergy.com.au.
